About the lecturer
Dr.
Anthony Bartzokas is Professorial Fellow at UNU-MERIT and on the
faculty of the Department of Economics, University of Athens, Greece.
He is an economist by training with a PhD in the Economics of
Technological Change. His work in recent years has focused on
trajectories of technological change, with special reference to the
role of financial markets, industrial organization and environmental
regulation in Developed and Industrializing Countries. He has carried
out extensive research on the impact of innovation and technology
policy in industrialization and economic development with financial
support from several international organizations and the European
Union. At UNU-MERIT he was involved in setting up the new Phd Programme
on Innovation Studies and Development and served as the first
coordinator of the Programme.
